ABOUT US

Tenants and Owners Development Corporation (TODCO) is a community-based housing/community development corporation for San Francisco's South of Market Neighborhood. Our summary Mission is South of Market Neighborhood Builders.  The TODCO Group of non-profit companies planned and developed new and rehabilitated affordable housing for seniors, persons with disabilities, and SRO households, with eight operating residences housing almost 1,200 residents.  TODCO provides extensive resident services and programs through our Resident Services/Activities Program (RSAP) and engages in a wide range of community development programs and advocacy with other South of Market community organizations.


POSITION SUMMARY

This full-time on-site exempt position provides a comprehensive range of activities, events, trips, and educational information that encourages / promotes socialization, wellness and cognitive health awareness, coordinates programs and support for the established Activities Program at assigned sites.

Monday – Friday, with occasional Weekends and/or Evenings as scheduled

SALARY

$65,000 - $90,000 Annual (100% Full Time Equivalent) Depending on Qualifications & Experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate, plan and provide comprehensive and specialized on-site and/or virtual activities, programs, events, and trips to meet the needs, interests, abilities and concerns of a diverse population of residents; explore and introduce innovative and creative program ideas, opportunities and resources.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with staff, contractors, and community agencies to implement resident services and activity programs.

  • Produce program materials that include flyers, calendars, content for message boards and web postings, utilizing a variety of outreach and communication methods.

  • Assess current needs and interests of target populations through formal / informal surveys and/or focus groups, compile data, develop reports and summarize findings.

  • Maintain accurate program, participant and department documentation and records. Provide timely and accurate reporting and data entry regarding event planning, resources, participant interest, and other notable information, such as injuries or behavioral incidents.

  • Work in conjunction and in coordination with property managers and staff to maintain communication regarding programs, activities and events.

  • Work with staff to implement the Recreation Therapy Internship Program and other volunteers; assist with overseeing / supervising and training interns and volunteers as assigned.

  • Assist, plan, implement and/or coordinate RSAP trips, and drive residents in the company van as needed.

  • Provide support or back-up coverage to RSAP programs / activities when needed; assist with ordering and managing program supplies and inventory.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Recreation Therapy required.

  • Valid California and National Certifications (RTC & CTRS) preferred.

  • Direct / relevant professional experience implementing therapeutic recreation activities with diverse populations - e.g., adults, adults with disabilities and senior populations, knowledge of conditions such as cognitive, mental, and physical health disabilities, dementia, frail, supportive housing concepts, drug / alcohol abuse issues, and/or homelessness.

  • Experience working in a non-profit, community-based setting helpful.

  • Ability to plan, develop and implement therapeutic recreation, social enrichment, health and wellness programs, procedure, and systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers. Ability to assist in supervision and training of staff, interns and/or volunteers.

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual community.

  • Bilingual English / Spanish or Cantonese language desired, but not required.

  • Ability to work both independently and part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Proficient in data gathering, collection, analytics, and reporting with basic statistical analysis.

  • Ability to maintain accurate statistical records and documentation of services as required by the City of San Francisco HSH, TODCO or other funding sources.

  • Professional efficiency level of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Outlook, charting and relationship management software, publishing, and other software.

  • Knowledge and ability to work with San Francisco and Bay Area resources, special skills and interests applicable to program.

  • Attention to details and ability to be flexible; flexibility to work when needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, or early mornings.

  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and a good driving record; ability to drive the company van with 8-passengers.

  • Ability to pass a background check.

  • Must be fully vaccinated and follow current CDC recommendations for COVID-19.
